How does this work?
1.) You submit our Form or email us with your photos as .jpg attachments. You can also send us prints through the mail if you prefer. Call (617) 259-0491 or email to get our mailing address. How do I select or take the best photos?
Good natural daylight is best and if its coming from one side, even better. From a window is good or outdoors, early morning and late afternoon light is beautiful. Flash does NOT make for nice photos. Get down to their eye level and zoom in or get close to fill the frame. The eyes are important so let us see detail. You don't have to get them to smile but please give a little treat from us when they're done. Can you combine multiple photos?
Yes. Indicate what you like about each photo, i.e., expression from one but position from another, and we will put them together. Or, if you have different animals you would like in the same painting, we can usually do that too. What if I can't provide ideal photos?
While it's generally true that the better the photo, the better the painting, sometimes you have few photos to choose from. Perhaps it's a beloved pet that has since passed away. We will work with what you can provide from a photo and description to create a memorial that will be treasured. What about the background?
Don't worry about background scenery in your photos. We typically do a contemporary solid color approach to show off the pet's features. If you have color preferences or dislikes, let us know. Do include at least one photo that shows the entire pet if you want a full body painting. And if you'd like us to paint in a favorite toy, we'll be happy to. How do I pay?
We will send an invoice through PayPal and you can either use it to submit credit card, debit card, or bank transfer information privately, without having a PayPal account. Or if you prefer, you can send a personal check to PaintyPets at our address at the top of the invoice. Is there a satisfaction guarantee in case I don't like it?
Yes! We've either been very lucky or we're very good because we haven't had to send a refund yet. We send you a digital photo of the painting near completion for you to approve or request minor changes and we work to get it right so that we love it and you love it too. The only surprise at the end should be that it looks even better in person. (See Reviews) But, should you be the first to not fall in love and we just can't make it happen, we will refund your deposit and you owe nothing. Guaranteed. How long does it take?
The turnaround time is 2 to 4 weeks after the plan is set. A little more lead time is good around the holidays. But if you absolutely need it for a particular date, let us know and we'll do our best to accommodate your requests. And then I'm an Original Art Owner?
Yes, you are the proud owner of the original painting. PaintyPETs! retains all reproduction rights to our images. We do welcome licensing inquiries. If you would like to discuss reproduction permission or licensing, please contact us. What if I have a special request?
